Welcome to worship at Tsawwassen United Church
Everyone is welcome to participate in all areas of our worship service as they are able. Our greeters will welcome you at the door and will help with any questions or concerns you may have. Our congregation is made up of members from 95 years of age down to young children. Worship is filled with the word of God through scripture, sermon discussions and music all flowing in a format that is printed on a bulletin and projected onto a screen. Worship runs from 10:00 am to approximately 11:15- 11:30 am with a time of fellowship and refreshments following every service. All Children Welcome!
Our children’s program runs during worship time as the children are present to participate. This is done in the service through pictures, books, time in our children’s sanctuary activity area or with a Children’s Church leader apart from the worship service.
Holy Communion
On the first Sunday of each month we celebrate Holy Communion.
Everyone is welcome at God’s table, in the United Church’s tradition we recognize an open communion.
We partake in communion by “Intinction”. Going forward you receive the bread, dip it in the cup and eat. Returning to your seat we pause for prayerful meditation.
Revised Common Lectionary
Our services follow the Seasons of the Christian Year with the Revised Common Lectionary guide. The Lectionary follows a three year cycle, carrying the church through the sweep of the entire biblical narrative. “The revised Common Lectionary is an ecumenical lectionary created by over twenty-five North American Protestant Churches and the Roman Catholic International Commission on the English in the Liturgy. Lectionaries have been in use in the church since the Fourth Century. For upcoming services see the Event Calendar.
